Celestica to stop manufacturing RIM devices

Celestica today announced that it will wind down its manufacturing services for Research In Motion within the next six months. RIM was its largest customer and accounted for 19% of Celestica’s revenues for its last quarter despite dropping demand for BlackBerry devices. Documents filed today reveal that Research In Motion will pay a combined US$12 million to Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, the company’s former co-CEOs and co-chairmen, who stepped down in January.
