When The Rolling Stones performed their first ever concert in Cuba, Zenith Watches marked the occasion by unveiling the limited edition Zenith Academy Christophe Colomb Tribute to The Rolling Stones. The Swiss watchmaker returned to Cuba this week to mark the 50th anniversary of the famed cigar brand Cohiba with the unveiling of the limited edition El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba Edition watch.
The Havana Brown dial is reminiscent of the amber colour of a cigar. It is accented with the distinctive Cohiba ring pattern running vertically across it. The stripe is broken near the top by the Zenith and Cohiba logos as well as the Cohiba’s emblem, the profile of aboriginal chief Taino.
A window in the upper left quadrant gives a glimpse at the El Primero movement. The chronograph comes with a 12-hour counter sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock mark. The dial is finished with facetted, luminescent hands.
The sapphire caseback is engraved with the Cohiba 50th anniversary logo. It reveals an oscillating weight adorned with “Côtes de Genève.”
