Pebble kicked off its latest Kickstarter campaign back on May 24th for the new Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 smartwatches and Pebble Core wearable. Just a little over half way through, it has raised more than US$11 million courtesy of more than 58,000 backers. It today announced that it has added two new Pebble Time Round Special Edition smartwatches to the campaign.
These special editions feature everything fans cherish about Pebble Time Round’s “modern classic” design—the always-on display, up to two days of battery life, Pebble Health, a mic for voice features, thousands of custom apps and faces, compatibility with Pebble Core and the upcoming Pebble 4.0 operating system—in new finishes that pop in all the right ways. We can’t wait for our backers to welcome them home first from Kickstarter.
The new Pebble Time Round Special Editions will be available for pre-order during the Kickstarter campaign. The first comes finished in polished gold and the second in polished silver. The jet black decorative bezel is accented with smoked numbering. Both watches come with a 20mm ebony genuine leather band with matching clasps and quick-release pins. They are otherwise identical to the original Pebble Time Round models.
The Pebble Time Round Special Edition will ship to backers in September, before anyone else can get their hands on one. They will also sport an exclusive laser engraving that will distinguish them from those that go on sale later this year.
You can pre-order the Pebble Time Round Special Edition in polished Gold or Silver for US$199 (about CA$260). You can also order it along with a Pebble 2 for US$298 (about CA$385).
