The countries that will have their own Apple Watch Olympic straps are Canada, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.

Before you rush out to your local Apple Store, there is a small catch. The Olympic straps will only be available in Brazil at one location: The Apple Store at VillageMall in Barra da Tijuca, a neighbourhood in the west end of Rio de Janeiro. They will sell for R$329 (about US$100 or CA$135).

With limited availability, these are bound to eventually surface online, selling at a premium.

At least one U.S. athlete, sprinter Trayvon Bromell has already managed to snag one of the straps and is already wearing it:

It’s not the first time that Apple offers limited edition straps for the Apple Watch. Earlier this summer, it gave employees rainbow-coloured bands to commemorate this year’s Pride parade in San Francisco.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Apple design limited-edition Apple Watch bands for specific events. For the San Francisco Pride parade last month, Apple designed rainbow-colored bands with red lugs to show support of equality.
