The rugged Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch was unveiled at CES 2016 and went on sale in the U.S. on March 25th as per its original plans. The company has now reconfirmed that it has no plans to expand the Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch availability beyond the U.S. and Japan at this point.
In a statement to Wareable, a Casio spokesperson explained, “At the moment there are only plans for the WSD-F10 to be stocked in the US and Japan, with no confirmed date for UK release.”
It should be noted that Casio’s statement leaves the door open to the company expanding availability in the future. That decision could hinge on how well the Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch sells in its first two markets.
Built to military specifications, Casio’s first Android Wear watch is a rugged smartwatch geared specifically at outdoor enthusiasts. It can display a range of information including compass direction, air pressure and altitude, sunrise and sunset times, changes in the natural environment and tide graphs.
It also comes with a dual layer display. A monochrome Timepiece Mode displays only watch data while the more power-hungry colour LCD one is used to display measurement data and apps in full colour.
