Nixon this week unveiled its latest additions to its growing line of Star Wars watches. The new Nixon Star Wars: Light side collection is inspired by “the good guys:” Jedis, C3-PO and R2-D2.
For the Jedi, there is the Ranger Chrono Leather SW, a 44mm chronograph sporting a Light Side vs. Dark side day chrono sub-dial at the three o’clock mark and a60 minute chrono sub-dial at 9 o’clock adorned with the logo of the Jedi order. Its copper dial is inspired details from Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber. The caseback is engraved with the Jedi quote “Trust Your Instincts.” It is finished with a Horween leather strap with solid stainless steel buckle closure.
C3-PO fans have a choice of three watches. The 42mm Sentry SS SW features an embossed dial inspired by C3-PO chest place and exposed mid-section wires. The 39mm Time Teller Chrono SW and 26mm Small Time Teller SW lack the exposed wires but retain the look and colours of our favourite protocol droid. All three feature C3-PO’s “This is madness” phrase on the caseback.
For those who prefer astromech droids, R2-D2 is represented with three watches of his own. The 37mm Time Teller SW and 26mm Small Time Teller SW feature a dial inspired by R2-D2’s dome. The crown, finished in red, is meant to remind us of R2-D2’s holographic projector. The 44mm Unit SW also sports a display inspired by R2-D2’s colours. All three have one of the iconic sound, Beep Boop, inscribed on the back.
Prices for the new Nixon Star Wars watches run between US$150 (about CA$205) and US$425 (about CA$580). All can now be ordered directly from Nixon. It also offers a range of accessories including backpacks and belts inspired by Star Wars.
