Samsung has released a new firmware update for its Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. While it’s not a huge update, firmware version R732XXU2CPB7 does bring a couple of features that users are likely to appreciate.
The first new feature is Flight Mode. Much like Airplane Mode on your smartphone or tablet, it provides a convenient way to turn off all wireless connections with a single tap. The second new feature is automatic brightness control to cut down on excessive glare in a dark environment. A third new feature now lets you manually update the News Briefing app.
Smaller enhancements include an improved digital watch face. You can now select an image from the Gallery app as your dial background.
Samsung has begun to push out this latest firmware. To see if it’s ready for your Gear S2, head over to the Gear app on your smartphone and check under Settings.
