Sony first unveiled its Sony Xperia Ear wireless earbud at MWC 2016 back in late February. It was originally scheduled to launch this summer. Sony today confirmed at its IFA 2016 press conference that the launch has now been pushed back to November.
The Sony Xperia Ear is a single earpiece that connects to your smartphone via NFC or Bluetooth. It can respond to voice commands as well as provide useful information in a natural voice. For example, you can use it to receive schedule and weather information as well as start a call or dictate a message, all without ever having to reach for your smartphone. It is powered by Sony’s Agent Technology and a proximity sensor.
Still missing are specific availability details as well as pricing information. We can expect to find out more as the November launch date gets closer.
