Famed leaker Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, last month suggested that HTC would finally launch its first smartwatch in mid-April. He reaffirmed today via Twitter that HTC is still on track to have its smartwatch out “before the end of April.”
Small consolation, HTC fans: you'll be able to pick up the watch before the end of April.

Specific details about the HTC smartwatch unfortunately remain elusive. Given that HTC was named as one of Google’s Android Wear partners when the new wearable platform was first announced nearly two years ago, it is possible that it will indeed use Google’s mobile platform. Perhaps it will also use one of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoCs. It’s also possible that HTC will opt to go in a different direction in a bid to differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded market.
There is no word yet on when HTC will announce its new smartwatch. Perhaps it will do so later this month at MWC 2016. If not, it could do so in March when it is rumoured to announce the HTC M10, its next flagship smartphone.
Hopefully more information about the HTC smartwatch comes to light soon.
