Frédérique Constant has unveiled a new limited edition timepiece in its Classics collection. The Frédérique Constant Art of Porcelain is a limited edition watch that features a porcelain dial. As the name suggests, it distinguishes itself from other pieces with its hand made porcelain dial accented with black roman numerals.
Frédérique Constant partnered with Hungary’s Zsolnay Porcelain Manufacture for the dial. Porcelain, a ceramic material, requires kiln temperatures as high as 1,400 °C (about 2,600 °F) to give its toughness, strength and translucence. Once fired, it is sanded by hand to exacting standards. The dial is then accentuated with black roman numerals and hours and seconds blued, feuille-style hands.
The end result is a gorgeous timepiece that is both elegant and timeless. Best of all, it adheres to Frédérique Constant’s philosophy of quality watches at a reasonable price despite being a limited series edition.
It should be pointed out that it’s not clear whether the FC-302 automatic caliber is a sourced movement or an in-house one.
