Fitbit unveiled its latest wearable at CES 2016. The Fitbit Blaze Fitness Tracker is one of those devices that blurs the lines between basic fitness tracker and smartwatch by incorporating elements of both. The company bills it as its “smartest, most stylish, most motivating fitness tracker yet.”
Pre-orders are already underway on the Canadian and U.S. Fitbit website and have now come to Canadian retailers courtesy of Best Buy Canada and Indigo for CA$249.99. The former shows that it will be available in Canada as of March 11th.
Indigo is offering the Fitbit Blaze in either Black or Plum (purple). Best Buy and Fitbit also offer it in Blue. All carry both the small and large band models.
The Fitbit Blaze comes with all the usual Fitbit fitness tracking capabilities. It tracks everything from continuous movement activities like biking, hiking and running, aerobic workouts such as Zumba and cardio-kickboxing and a range of sports. It also supports notifications and FitStar, a personal fitness app that the company acquired last year.
The Fitbit Blaze can be customized with interchangeable elastomer and leather bands as well as stainless steel link bracelets. These accessories do not yet appear to be available for pre-order from Best Buy or Indigo.
