A number of luxury Swiss watch makers have jumped into the wearable technology space. Some like Tag Heuer and Frédérique Constant now offer smartwatches (the Tag Heuer Connected and Frédérique Constant Horological Smartwatch respectively) while others like IWC and Victorinox have turned to accessories (the still not available IWC Connect and the Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Cybertool respectively) to give their traditional watches more capabilities. Many more have yet to make the leap. Among them is Hublot. If it does decide to make the move into wearables, it may want to take a look at Seung-gi Park’s Smartwatch by Hublot.
Inspired by the angular lines of the Hublot King Power, the Smartwatch by Hublot offers many of the traditional features of other smartwatches. Among these are notifications including ones for incoming calls, sensors including a heart rate monitor to track activity and fitness levels and a speaker allowing for the playback of music or messages. It also sports a unique hinge controller that can be pressed down and scrolled to control various unspecified actions.
No details are provided about specifications but the concept does not appear to be much smaller than the 48mm King Power. The images also suggest at least two different variations, one black and one in rose gold, both with a black rubber strap.
Should Hublot enter the smartwatch market, do you think it will opt for this Smartwatch by Hublot concept? Or will it turn to its very successful Hublot “Big Bang” chronograph for inspiration? Perhaps it will do so instead unveil a completely different design? Let us know below what you think.
