Reports that Apple’s next event would take place the week of March 21st have proven correct. Apple began today to send out invitations to its “special invitation-only event.” The tag line for the event “Let us loop you in.” reveals little about what Apple will announce on that day.
Fortunately, rumours have painted a fairly clear picture of what we can expect. The main attraction is likely to be the return of the smaller 4-inch form factor for a new iPhone model that could be called either the iPhone SE or iPhone 5se. It should replace the aging iPhone 5S. A new iPad 3 is also a strong possibility although new features first introduced with the iPad Pro could result in a new device name.
A second-generation Apple Watch is not expected. Instead, Apple is likely to unveil new band accessories. It remains to be seen though if Apple will unveil new partnerships with fashion houses like it did last year with Hermès. A new version of watchOS should also make the agenda.
Apple’s March 21st event will take place at the Apple campus.
