Xiaomi announced back in February that it would enter the U.S. market by offering a range of accessories including its Mi fitness band, headphones and power banks through an online store. The company this week revealed that its online Xiaomi Mi Store will open on May 19th (this coming Tuesday) not only in the U.S. but also in France, Germany and the UK.
The store will open in as a beta test for now, presumably to allow it to work out any kinks ahead of a full launch. It will offer “very limited quantities” of accessories. These include Mi Headphones for US$79.99, Mi Bands for US$14.99 and 5000mAh and 10400mAh Mi Power Banks for US$9.99 and US$13.99 respectively.
Xiaomi suggests that you sign up for a Mi Account ahead of time so that you can log in and be ready ahead of the sale starting at 1300 CEST on May 19th (1200 GMT).
Xiaomi explained back in February that the launch is meant to introduce the brand to customers in the U.S. (and France, Germany and the UK). The plan is to presumably expand the online catalog on the Xiaomi Mi Store to eventually include smartphones and tablets and other countries (hopefully including Canada).
