Most of the smartwatches we have seen hit the market so far provide a range of notifications and often act as activity trackers. But not everyone wants to know how many steps they took today or what their heartbeat is at any one time. For those who want to know how their finances are doing, British watchmaker Hoptroff may have the answer. As the name implies, the Hotblack Stockmarket brings the day’s financial data to your wrist while retaining the elegance of a traditional watch.
It’s more than the stock market standard; it’s a watch that holds its own in the watch world, as well. Each one is made to order specifically for your sophisticated wrist.
The analog watch face sports a dial at the 9 o’clock position that shows market data as a percentage change over the previous day’s close. A quick glance and you’ll know whether your ahead on the day or not. The watch receives its financial data from Yahoo Finance via a connected smartphone.
The Hotblack Stockmarket comes with a 38mm case in black-PVD coated stainless steel with a sapphire crystal. The hands and hour digits are coated in superluminova. The calendar is perpetual and adjusts automatically for daylight saving and leap seconds. It is waterproof to 5 atmospheres.
The Hotblack Stockmarket is currently only compatible with the iPhone. Android compatibility is promised for some time this year.
Made to order in right or left hand configuration, the Hotblack Stockmarket sells for £1,200 (about CA$2,150).
