The latest installment of the Star Wars saga will hit theaters on December 18th. The marketing machine is already in full swing and Star Wars branded merchandise is now everywhere. You can even put Star Wars on your wrist courtesy of the new Android Wear watch faces available via the latest official Star Wars app update.
The app is available for both Android and iOS. Three interfaces let you customize your smartwatch with the same theme as on your smartphone. For those who have embraced the dark side, there is a red theme with a Death Star background. The light side has a green theme with star field background. For those more interested in droids, a blue theme with R2-D2 is also available.
Along with the usual information like date and time, the watch faces also provide daily Star Wars factoids when you tap on the date.
The app itself is counting down to the opening of The Force Awakens. It also lets you unlock 3D characters from using a special Augmented Reality camera feature. And for jedis in training, it lets you wield a lightsaber and hone your skills against a training remote like the one seen in Star Wars: A New Hope.
The official Star Wars app is available as a free download on the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
