Google has already announced that Google I/O 2015, its annual developer conference, will take place in late May this year. Registration for the event opened today and will close on March 19th at at 1700 PT (2000 ET).
As it did last year, Google will run a lottery to randomly select attendees. Once the registration period ends, Google will notify those who will score themselves a chance to attend this year’s event.
Pricing has not been announced yet. Last year, Google charged US$900 for general admission and US$300 for for academics. We would not bank on tickets going for any less than that this year.
Last year’s event saw Google announce Android L which was eventually released as Android 5.0 Lollipop. We also got previews of Android Wear, Android Auto and Android TV.
Attendees also walked away with either the LG G Watch or the Samsung Gear Live and later received a Moto 360.
Google I/O 2015 will take place on May 28th and 29th at the Moscone Center West conference center in San Francisco.
