Given the number of recent leaks (some by Motorola itself), it is likely that Motorola is getting ready to announce a successor to its Moto 360 smartwatch. Mobile Fun, a UK-based online retailer, has decided not to wait for any official announcement and has begun to take pre-orders for the “Motorola Moto 360 2nd Generation Smartwatch.”
A recent rumour indicated that the new Moto 360 would come in two sizes. Mobile Fun‘s listing appears to confirm that. It shows both a 46.5mm model with a cognac leather band as well as a smaller model with either a dark or light stainless steel bracelet. The size of the smaller model is not mentioned but is likely closer to 38 to 40mm.
One variant of the Moto 360 2nd Gen is sized at 46.5mm with a cognac leather band and is available for pre-order for $392.49 while the smaller variant of the watch is available for $326.99.
The larger model is listed at US$392.49 (about CA$520) while the smaller one is set to go for US$326.99 (about CA$447).
Details about the new Moto 360 line up with what we have seen and heard to date. The crown will move slightly to the 2 o’clock position and the larger model will benefit from a larger 375mAh battery (up from 320mAh). The smaller model will sport a 270mAh battery instead. Unfortunately, the black bar (or flat tire) at the bottom of the display is set to make a return.
There is no word yet on when Motorola will unveil the new Moto 360 but everything points to an imminent announcement.
