Chronoswiss has once again made a contribution to the upcoming Only Watch 2015 auction to benefit the Monaco Association Against Muscular Dystrophy. The Chronoswiss Ouroboros is a unique piece inspired by the mythological snake-like creature that eats its own tail. Often viewed as a symbol of the eternal cycle and infinity of time, it is certainly not out of place on the dial of a watch.
The three dimensional Ouroboros was engraved by hand into the white gold dial. It wraps around the center of the dial which features a côtes de Genève pattern in galvanic anthracite to add “to the mysterious allure of the timepiece.” The level of detail certainly speaks to Chronoswiss’ craftsmanship.
The Chronoswiss Ouroboros also comes with two chimes. The first rings out the number of hours with a simple “ding” while the second uses two hammers to ring out the number of quarter-hours with a “ding-dong.”
