Nomos has unveiled a new collection of automatic watches built around its Nomos Calibre DUW 3001 movement. The Nomos neomatik series is billed as “flat, elegant, and very accurate—cosmopolitan, cultivated, and contemporary too.” It consists of five models, four of which are new interpretation of existing ones (the Tangente, Orion, Metro and Ludwig) and the new Minimatik. Each comes in two versions.
The first version does not stray far from the current Nomos aesthetic with its cyan blue accents on a white silver-plated dial. The second is completely new, introducing a champagne-coloured dial with neon orange details.
At the heart of the new neomatik collection is the Nomos Calibre DUW 3001 movement. Already the tenth in-house built NOMOS caliber, it is a mere 3.2 millimeters thick thanks to “modern research and production methods.”
The neomatik collection watches come with stainless steel cases ranging in diameter between 35 and 36 millimeters. They sport sapphire crystal glass on the front and back and a leather strap.
Nomos will only produce the Neomatik First Edition watches during the remainder of 2015. After a short pause, it will then unveil a new Neomatik collection in 2016. While these may not be limited edition watches in the truest sense, they may still end up being quite scarce.
Prices start at US$2260 (CA$4500) for the Ludwig neomatik and run up to US$3960 (CA$5290) for the Metro neomatik champagner.
