Olio last week promised a “big reveal” for today. It turns out that the company had in fact two pieces of good news. Not only has it re-opened pre-orders for its Olio Model One Steel and Olio Model 1 Black collections but it also unveiled two new limited edition Model One smartwatch collections.
Olio unveiled its first two collections back in late March. Each was limited to 500 pieces and sold out by May 1st. The company has now added another batch of 500 watches to each collection and resumed pre-orders. With a Friends and Family Discount promotion in effect (but only for a limited time), the Steel collection currently starts at US$345 and the Black collection at US$495.
The two new collections are the Olio Model One Gold and Olio Model One Rose collections. The former sports a 24-karat gold plated case and the latter an 18-karat rose gold plated one. They sport 47mm cases and are otherwise identical to the original Model 1 collections.
Both new collections are currently limited to 100 pieces each. Pricing starts at US$945 for both new collections (while the Friends and Family Discount promotion is in effect).
Shipments of the new Black and Steel collections is set for early Fall. The new Gold and Rose collections will follow in late Fall.
The Olio Model One is powered by a proprietary operating system that uses a time-based format. It presents past events in one stream and upcoming ones in a different one to better help you plan upcoming activities. It also promises to learn about your preferences to customize notifications to cut out those that you don’t need. It is compatible with Android 4.3+ and iOS 8+.
