Motorola today announced that it will open its first retail store in time for the holiday season. The Moto Shop will open in downtown Chicago, the company’s home town, on Saturday November 7th.
Smartphones and wearables are the most personal accessories we own, and we want to make the shopping experience for Moto devices equally personal.
That’s why we’re introducing Moto Shop: the first-ever Motorola experiential boutique in the heart of downtown Chicago — our hometown. We’ll open on Saturday, November 7, just in time for your holiday shopping.
Looking at products online can be fun, but nothing compares to experiencing them in person, especially when it comes to your smartphone or smartwatch. But don’t expect phones on display outlining technical specs — Moto Shop is a hands-on, interactive environment with dedicated areas that bring to life our marquee products and device features.
The Moto Shop will allow visitors to go hands-on when customizing a Moto X Pure Edition by allowing them to play with the different options available, including genuine leathers and real woods. Those looking for a Moto 360 smartwatch will be able to see and try on nearly all customization options on display as well.
You will also be able to put the Moto X Pure Edition’s 21MP camera to the test on the Moto Shoot set while the Drop Zone will let you see for yourself how a Droid Turbo 2 and its Moto ShatterShield stand up to being dropped onto slabs of concrete, ceramic and tile.
The Moto Shop is located at 108 N. State St. (Suite 140 at Block 37) in Chicago.
Let us know what you think if you have a chance to drop by and visit the Moto Shop.
