More than a few Moto 360 smartwatch owners were disappointed earlier this month when Motorola confirmed that the Android Wear 5.1.1 update was on hold as “performance is not quite there.” Working with Google, it has now resolved the issues and confirmed that Google has now begun to push out the update.
Android Wear 5.1.1 for the Moto 360 brings with it Wi-Fi support for those times that your smartphone is out of range, always-on support for apps, a new launcher and wrist gestures and a new “Screen lock” feature. It also gives you the ability to draw emojis to reply to messages, heads-up notifications that appear on-screen even when you’re looking at something else on your watch, the ability to set the font size and support for multiple smartwatches if happen to own more than one.

Motorola has also added a number of new Moto Body features. These include an opt-in weekly e-mail summary to stay on top of your goals and the ability to set new calorie goals that you can track.
