Samsung earlier today unveiled its new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy edge+ smartphones. Before the presentation wrapped up, the company pulled a bit of “One more thing” moment and gave the audience a quick look at its upcoming smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2. A couple more images have now surfaced in new promotional materials.
Needless to say, the Samsung “Lookbook” is heavily focused on the new smartphones but two images of the round smartwatch have also managed to make it in.
While there are no specific details to go with the new pictures, bills the new watch as “the future of wearables:”
Fashion is forever changing. Like style’s greatest innovators, Samsung is devoted to wildly recreating and revamping the rules of fashion and tech.
This seasons, Samsung takes a brave step forward by reimagining the classic circular watch, infusing it with functional technology and a touch of creativity. This new wearable device is a testament of Samsung’s continual heritage as a wild innovator – creating a stunningly unique experience inspired by fashion history.
Both images feature women, suggesting that the company may actively woo them to take up its new wearable. Rumours have already hinted at at least three variants. Perhaps Samsung will offer different sized models, much as Apple has done with the Apple Watch.
Samsung will formally introduce the Gear S2 on September 3rd at an IFA 2015 press event.
