Longines earlier this month unveiled the Longines Heritage Military COSD, a watch inspired by the timepieces used by the British Special Forces during the 1940s. Equipment stamped COSD was intended for the Combined Operations Command created during the Second World War. This latest addition to the Longine Heritage collection harkens back to the field watches of the day while managing to feel contemporary at the same time.
The Longines Heritage Military COSD is available with your choice of a matte black or off-white dial. Both feature large black Arabic numerals for easy visibility as well as the same red 24-hour scale and railway-track minute ring that the original sported. Both the numerals and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova to further improve readability under all conditions.
The watch also sports a broad arrow symbol that serves as another reminder of the watch’s British military roots.
