LG Watch Urbane LTE goes on sale in South Korea

LG Watch Urbane LTELG in February unveiled its LG Watch Urbane LTE shortly after announcing the LG Watch Urbane. LG did not provide availability and pricing details then but has done so now as the watch goes on sale in South Korea.

At this point, the LG Watch Urbane LTE is only going on sale in LG’s home country with LG U+ as the carrier with its own SIM card.

Despite a very similar name to the the LG Watch Urbane, the two watches are quite different. The LG Watch Urbane LTE is powered by the LG Wearable Platform (which appears to be based on webOS) and is able to make and answer calls as well as send and receive text messages without the need to be connected to a smartphone. There is no word yet on whether LG will offer it more widely later. It may well depend on how well it sells in South Korea.

In the meantime, the LG Watch Urbane is expected to have a wider distribution and is confirmed to be coming to the U.S. courtesy of AT&T. There is no word on Canadian availability at this point.
