The LG Nemo with its high resolution display is not the only new smartwatch that LG is working on. An FCC filing has revealed that the South Korean company is working on a second model, identified as the LG-VC110. While it is plausible that the two could be one and the same, photos and a separate leak suggest instead that the two are in fact different and will be aimed at two different audiences.
Photos reveal that the LG-VC110 shares more in common with rugged running watches than the elegant LG Watch Urbane. It appears to be made of a rubberized material with a strap that cannot be swapped out.
The filing also reveals that the LG-VC110 will come with a 1.77-inch (44mm) display, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular CDMA connectivity. A micro-USB port also appears to be in the cards.
There is no word yet on on other specifications.
According to a SlashGear source, the LG-VC110 will not use Android Wear and will be aimed at sports enthusiasts. It wll also be more affordable than the LG Watch Urbane or LG G Watch R.
With IFA 2015 just around the corner, it may not be too long before we find out more about LG’s new sports smartwatch.
