IWC Schaffhausen unveiled one more surprise before the holidays. The company earlier this week announced three new additions to its IWC Aquatimer family of diver watches. First up is the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano.” Second is a new variant of the Aquatimer Automatic 2000 with a black dial and yellow hands and markers. The last the Aquatimer Automatic Edition “Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau” honours the French scuba-diving pioneer.
“Diver’s watches have held a special place in our collection since the launch of the first Aquatimers in 1967. They’re sporty, dynamic and radiate an unmistakable aura – and that makes them perfect for expeditions underwater but also on land,” says Georges Kern, CEOof IWC Schaffhausen, summing up their attraction.
The Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano” is inspired by the eponymous volcano in the Galapagos Islands. The colours are reminiscent of the seething magma and lava that you find in a volcano. The case back features an engraving of the volcano erupting. It will be limited to 500 pieces.
