HTC loses Industrial Design VP Jonah Becker

HTCJonah Becker was named HTC’s VP of Industrial Design when Scott Croyle, former SVP of Design and User Experience, left the company. Less than a year after stepping into the role, Becker has announced viat Twitter that he has left HTC. No reasons were provided for his departure.

Becker joined HTC when the Taiwanese company acquired design firm One & Co. He was joined by fellow principals Claude Zellweger and Scott Croyle with the latter taking on the Design helm until his departure 11 months ago. He will be replaced by design group colleague Daniel Hundt.

HTC confirmed the departure with a short statement:

“We can confirm that Jonah Becker has left HTC; he had been with the Company since HTC acquired One & Co over six years ago. We would like to thank Jonah for his work with HTC, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. He has been succeeded by Daniel Hundt, based in our San Francisco design office.”

Although unlikely related, Becker’s departure comes on the heels of the company’s announcement that Peter Chou was stepping down as CEO to head up the Future Development Lab with HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang taking on the CEO mantle.
