Details continue to slowly emerge about HTC’s first wearable device. Recent rumours have suggested that HTC has opted to cancel plans to release a smartwatch in favour of a fitness band that will leverage its new partnership with Under Armour. Now comes word that this HTC fitness band will first launch in the U.S., Under Armour’s own home country.

No new information about the HTC wearable was revealed though. But it is expected to integrate with Under Armour’s UA Record platform. If so, it promises to not only track your personal health data with a variety of fitness tracking tools (such as MapMyRun and MapMyRide) but also allow you to compete in a variety of fitness challenges against up to 20 friends. A range of content including videos, nutrition information, training methodologies and injury prevention will also be available.
The HTC fitness band will presumably be unveiled alongside its new flagship smartphone at its March 1 MWC 2015 event.
There is no word yet on HTC’s fitness band launch plans beyond the U.S. at this point but we can expect to learn more once HTC makes its first wearable official.
