The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has taken place every year since 2001. According to the Foundation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the body that runs the event, it is “intended to salute the excellence of worldwide horological production and annually rewards the finest creations and the most important operators in the watchmaking sector.” Think of it as the Oscars for the watchmaking world.
The 15th edition of the GPHG just wrapped up with awards handed out in Geneva across a range of categories. The top prize, the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix this year went to Greubel Forsey for the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision.
In all, 16 watches were honoured with a prize by the 26 judges. They cover a range of designs and prices with winners such as the Habring2 Felix being offering a clean and neat a design to the Audemars Piguet Diamond Punk and its impressive stonework.

- Mechanical Exception Watch Prize: Jaquet Droz, The Charming Bird
- “Petite Aiguille” Prize: Habring2, Felix
- Sports Watch Prize: Tudor, Pelagos
- Jewellery Watch Prize: Audemars Piguet, Diamond Punk
- Artistic Crafts Watch Prize: Blancpain, Villeret, cadran Shakudō
- Revival Watch Prize: Piaget, Extremely Piaget Double Sided Cuff Watch
- Innovation Watch Prize: Antoine Preziuso, Tourbillon of Tourbillons
- “Horological Revelation” Prize: Laurent Ferrier, Galet Square
A Special Jury Prize was also handed out to Vacheron Constantin watchmakers Micke Pintus, Yannick Pintus and Jean-Luc Perrin who developed the Reference 57260 watch.
The Public Prize, voted on via Internet and at the exhibitions, went to Antoine Preziuso for the Tourbillon of Tourbillons. It also won the Innovation Watch Prize.
The winning watches and other pre-selected ones will be on show in Geneva until November 4th. They will then be on exhibit one last time in London at the SalonQP from November 12th to 14th.
