Fossil first announced its intention to jump into the wearables market earlier this year. The company has since stayed in the news, regularly confirming that it was getting closer to launching its first devices developed with Google and Intel. It finally teased its new smartwatch and line of connected accessories back in August.
The brief glimpse was enough to confirm that the company was getting ready to launch a round-faced smartwatch, a “smarter watch” and connected bracelet later this year. Subsequent rumours suggested that the line would launch under the Fossil Q brand.
A new Fossil blog post has now confirmed that a “trio of new Fossil Q connected accessories” will launch in time for the holiday season. Fossil has posted a couple of images of its new Fossil Q smartwatch powered by Android Wear.Fossil will also launch a connected bracelet and a “connected non-display watch.” The former will be available in both men’s and women’s styles with a range of strap colours and materials to choose from.
All three will be compatible with Android and iOS, allowing them to be paired to a wide range of devices. All three will pair with a companion app to track daily activities and manage notifications. It will also let you “join a community of curious-minded individuals” although it’s not clear what this community will all you to do.
Pricing and specific availability details have not been announced yet.
Update (9/29/2015): The Fossil Q wearables will not be compatible with Windows devices. We have amended our post appropriately.
