Android developers in Toronto have enjoyed the AndroidTO conference for a number of years now. Now their fellow developers in Montreal are getting a very similar conference. Droidcon will take place in Montreal at the Palais des Congrès on April 9th and 10th.

The full Droidcon agenda has not been published but a number of speakers have already been announced. Among them are Jenny Tong from Firebase/Google, Jacob Ouellette from Twitter and Neal Sanche from Robots and Pencils who will deliver a talk on Android Wear’s notifications. As for the keynote, it will be delivered by Square’s Jake Wharton and Jesse Wilson. It promises to be “the most epic keynote ever.”
Droidcon tickets are now on sale. Early bird pricing is in effect until March 1. Until then, tickets are on sale for CA$250. They jump to CA$350 afterwards. Students ca pick up tickets for CA$100.
Unlike AndroidTO, Droidcon is part of a global series of conferences that focuses “on the best of Android.” Other events take place in New York as well as Paris, London, Krakow and as far as Dubai and Bangalore. More than 20 events are slated to take place in 2015.
