Christopher Ward C8 P7350 Chronometer celebrates 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain

Christopher Ward C8 P7350The Battle of Britain was a pivotal campaign of World War II that took place over the summer and fall of 1940. To mark the 75th anniversary year of this event, Christopher Ward has unveiled the C8 P7350 Chronometer. Befitting the occasion, it incorporates a piece of Duralumin, an aluminium alloy, from the only remaining airworthy Supermarine Spitfire to have flown in the battle. The watch takes its name from the plane’s registration number.

The watch is based on the P7350’s Smith Mk II A cockpit clock. It retains the original’s index fonts and colours and the black, anti-reflective case. It also sports a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. It uses SuperLuminova SLN C5 and T-C1 paints to provide a dual-tone blue and green night time visibility.

The back of the C8 P7350 Chronometer shows off the piece of Duralin that was recovered during the P7350’s restoration in 2008. The plane’s silhouette has been precision cut into the metal to show the registration and Spitfire’s distinctive elliptical wings.
