Withings impressed many in late 2014 with its Withings Activité watch. The Swiss-made watch discreetly combined an activity tracker into a traditional analog watch. Sadly, the attractive watch comes with a rather hefty price tag at US$450, putting out of reach of many. On the eve of CES 2015, Withings today announced the Withings Activité Pop, an affordable alternative to the Activité.
Like the Activité, the Activité Pop is an analog watch that comes with an activity and sleep tracker. It pairs with the Withings Health Mate app to set various goals. Progress against those goals is displayed on a smaller sub-dial on the watch. Among the goals it can track are swimming and running as well as walking.
Unfortunately for Android users, it will initially only be compatible with iOS devices. But an Android version should follow (hopefully) soon.
Like its more expensive sibling, the Activité Pop is powered by a CR2025 button cell battery, offering up to eight months of battery life.
Unlike the Activité, the body is made of PVD-coated metal while the strap is made with silicon. It comes in three colours: Azure, Shark Gray, and Sand. More colours will be offered in the future.
The Withings Activité Pop will launch in February 2015. It will sell for US$149.95 through Withings.com. It will also be available in the U.S. through Best Buy. There is no word on availability in other markets (including Canada) yet.
