Smartwatch maker Martian announced a new partnership with GUESS Watches back in August 2014 under which the two companies would “develop interactive, voice-command wrist accessories.” The first product of this new partnership was unveiled today at CES 2015 when GUESS unveiled the Guess Connect smartwatch.
Based on the Guess Rigor, the Guess Connect adds a fully-contained Martian module with a microphone and clear audio speaker to create a new line of “fashion chic” smartwatches designed for both men and women. Martian’s Dual Mode functionality offers voice command functions, the ability to listen to messages and respond to them and notifications from thousands of apps when paired to a smartphone via Bluetooth. Notifications are displayed via a small display at the bottom of the dial and the most recent one can be recalled with a tap of the watch glass.
“The GUESS CONNECT Smartwatch, Powered by Martian, represents one of the first true marriages of a fashion watch powerhouse and a wireless technology innovator,” states Cindy Livingston, President and CEO of Sequel / GUESS Watches. “We are thrilled to move in this direction with a proven technology innovator to create smart, GUESS designs.”
Much like Martian smartwatches, the Guess Connect is compatible with both Android and iOS and comes with a free app for both.
Pricing and availability details were not announced today.
