Where would a good spy be without his trustworthy watch? How many times did James Bond rely on his Rolex and more recently Omega watch to get out of a precarious situation? A new generation of British super-spies is about to leap into action in the upcoming film “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and watches may once again have to save the day. UK’s Bremont is outfitting these spies and will also offer its Kingsman Special Edition line of watches to anyone wanting to look as dapper. In all, three watches will be offered starting later this month.
First up is the Bremont Kingsman Special Edition Rose Gold (pictured above) which are worn by the Kingsman agents themselves. Based on the Bremont ALT1-WT world time chronograph, it features a 43mm 18 carat Rose Gold case with a white metal dial and sapphire crystal along with a Bremont BE-54AE automatic movement (based on the chronometer-certified 7750 movement). The strap is alligator with an 18 carat Rose Gold pin buckle.
The Bremont Kingsman Special Edition Stainless Steel trades in the rose gold and alligator for a hardened stainless steel case and a calf skin leather case with stainless steel pin buckle. It is worn by Merlin, the Kingsman agents’ trainer.
Last but not least is the all-black stealth Bremont Kingsman Special Edition DLC worn by the trainee recruits. Like the Stainless Steel model, it features a hardened stainless steel case and calf leather strap.
All three models are water resistant to 10 ATM (100 metres) with a 42 hour power reserve for the movement.
The watches play what is described as a key part in the film and are “an integral tool in the secret agents’ gadget line-up.” Whether that means that they also come with a built-in garotte or other convenient gadgets remains to be seen.
Keep your eyes open and you might even spot Bremont co-founder Nick English make a cameo appearance in the movie as one of the Kingsman agents. Needless to say, he’ll be wearing a Bremont Kingsman.
