Breitling first launched its Breitling Superocean diving watch back in 1957. With Baselworld 2015 kicking tomorrow, Breitling unveiled the Superocean II sporting a redesigned dial and bezel as well as a slimmer profile. It also unveiled a new 36 mm model to go alongside the existing 42 and 44 mm sizes.
The Superocean II, the latest representative of this exceptional lineage, confirms this vocation for great accomplishments. The profile of the case has been slimmed down for enhanced lightness and comfort. The fluted rubber-molded unidirectional rotating bezel displays clearly visible large numerals, a countdown of the last 15 dive-time minutes and a triangle with a luminescent marker at 12 o’clock. Dial visibility is further accentuated by large rounded Arabic numerals enhanced by a white luminescent coating and oversized hands that also shine in the dark.
The new Breitling Superocean II retains the Breitling 17 caliber and self-winding mechanism found on the Superocean line. But the new line is much thinner with the Superocean II 44 being 2.50 millimeters thinner than the Superocean 44.
