Apple CEO Tim Cook has already said that the Apple Watch will begin shipping in April. What has been missing to date is the list of markets in which it will do so. That it will first launch in the U.S. is almost certain. Less clear though has been whether it would be the sole initial market or if others would join it. Speaking last week at the flagship Apple Store in Berlin, CEO Tim Cook told employees that the Apple Watch launch may not be a U.S.-only affair after all.
Cook said that the Apple Watch would launch in Germany sometime in April. What’s not so clear is whether this means at the same time as the U.S. or slightly afterwards, probably a couple of weeks later, though.
Should Apple be planning a wider launch, other countries likely to be included in the first wave are likely to include Canada (which has been part of such initial rollouts in the past), Australia, France and the U.K.
Apple has in the past launched products in the U.S. only ahead of wider distribution later on. The original Apple iPhone is one such notable example.
