Apple Watch pre-orders kicked off early today. As expected, shipment dates quickly began to slip as demand outrripped supply. It’s not immediately clear if the sellouts were due to low inventories, high demand or both but one thing is clear. Many who placed their orders today will have to be patient. Those who place orders in coming days will need to be even more patient.
Shipment dates quickly slipped into the summer as initial supplies were quickly snapped up. As we write this, most Apple Watch Sports show a shipment date of June. You will have slightly better luck with the Apple Watch with a number of models still showing a 4 to 6 week shipment window, putting a delivery into the May to June timeframe. If you’re looking to pick up an Apple Watch Edition model, you won’t be as lucky as most show shipment dates as late as August.
Things look a bit better if you’re looking for accessories. While some watch bands are listed as currently unavailable, the majority show shipment windows of a couple of weeks or next month.
Apple Watch prices start at S$349 (CA$449) for the Apple Watch Sport line and top out at US$17,000 (CA$22,000) for the Apple Watch Edition line.
