Apple last year unveiled the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9th. According to the usually reliable John Paczkowski, now a managing editor at BuzzFeed after stints at AllThingsD and Re/code, Apple will unveil its latest iPhones on the very same day this year.
According to sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the event will take place the week of September 7th with the 9th “being the most likely date.” On tap are expected to be the new Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus along with new iPad tablets and perhaps an updated Apple TV.
The iPhone 6S devices are expected to come with upgrades such as a pressure-sensitive Force Touch display, an improved camera system and a faster and more power-efficient wireless chipset.
On the iPad front, Apple may finally unveil its long rumoured 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Rumours of such a device go all the way back to September 2013. Since then, there have been regular rumours about such a device. If announced, will it boast a 2K or even 4K display as some rumours suggested.
Apple could also use the event to announce when it will make WatchOS 2.0 (announced at WWDC 2015) available to the general public after its extended beta testing period.
For its part, Apple declined to comment on this report.
