Apple today unveiled a new accessory for the Apple Watch. As the name implies, the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock is an elegant accessory to recharge your Apple smartwatch. Needless to say, it works with both 38mm and 42mm models and uses the same inductive charging connector that comes with the Apple Watch.
Unlike many other charging accessories, the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock can accommodate your Apple Watch in either a lying flat position with strap open or on the side. When docked on its side, the watch automatically goes into Nightstand mode, so you can also use it as your alarm clock.
The dock comes with a Lightning to USB cable but does not include an AC charger. You’ll either have to use a spare you already have or make sure to pick a new one as well.
The Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock sells for US$79.99 (CA$99.99). It is now available via the online Apple Store and will be available in Apple retail stores on November 20th.
