The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is (albeit slowly) starting to land on smartphones and tablets. Android Wear smartwatches are now also starting to get the same attention. Reports are trickling in that a number of smartwatches, including the LG G Watch R, Moto 360 and Samsung Gear Live, have received the update.
The report adds that Android Wear 5.0.2 does not add any new features. Purely a maintenance release, it brings with it some system optimization tweaks and Google Play Services updates.
Android 5.0.2 on the Moto 360 carries build number LWX49L while the Samsung Gear Live version is build LWX49K.
To ensure that your watch gets updated to Android Wear 5.0.2 when the new firmware comes your way, you will need to make sure that your battery is charged to at least 80%. Once you get the notification, simply select “Download” and the update will start soon after.
