Amazon launched its Wearable Technology store in the U.S. back in April 2014. As the name implies, it focuses on the “latest in wearable technology and research wearable devices including activity trackers, smart watches, wearable cameras and more.” While Amazon Canada has offered wearables for some time, it has lacked this dedicated department. The online retailer today remedied that with the launch of the Wearable Technology store on Amazon.ca.
Among the brands that are currently available are Fitbit, Garmin, GoPro, Jawbone, Mio and TomTom. Looking specifically at the smartwatches section, only the Garmin Vivoactive GPS and Moto 360 are offered. More watches are available under categories such as running watches, golf watches and wearables for kids and pets.
Along with its range of wearables, the new department comes with a “Learning Center” that includes product video, buying guides and information about device compatibility.
The Wearable Technology Store is currently offering a CA$10 Promotional Credit offer. Buy a qualifiying wearable and Amazon will send you a CA$10 promotional credit that can be applied to a future purchase.
Last year, Amazon.ca launched a portal focused on unlocked smartphones and accessories, again following a similar launch in the U.S.
