Alcatel OneTouch today announced that it will reveal a number of new products at next week’s CES 2015. Along with a new line of PIXI 3 OS-agnostic smartphones, it will unveil its first smartwatch, the (aptly-named) ALCATEL ONETOUCH WATCH. Few details are available yet but the company promises to put “a premium on elegant design at a very accessible price.”
Offering the WATCH at a fraction of the cost of competitors, the smartphone brand has implemented its compact design expertise to offer a series of fine finishing that meet the demands of everyone looking for the same look and feel as a traditional watch.
The sole marketing image available so far shows a smartwatch with a round face and a number of different straps. Unlike the Moto 360, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch face appears to use the full round display but it appears to have done so with a larger bezel (much like is found on the LG G Watch R).
The image also reveals that the Alcatel OneTouch Watch will sport the usual smartwatch functions including notifications, daily activity monitoring (heartbeat monitor and presumably pedometer) and remote smartphone music and camera controls. It’s not immediately clear whether it will run Android Wear or another operating system.
More information about the Alcatel OneTouch Watch will be provided next week at CES 2015. We expect that details such as pricing and availability will also be announced then.
