China’s Xiaomi yesterday unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 4. It continues Xiaomi’s tradition of delivering impressive specifications at a price significantly lower than that of similar devices offered by many competitors.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 sports a stainless steel metal frame with chamfered edges and a plastic back plate. Not surprisingly, it is attracting comparisons to the Apple iPhone design.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 will go on sale in China later this month for CN¥1,999 (about CA$350) for the 16GB model and CN¥2,499 (about CA$440) for the 64GB model. Another 4G variant will launch in September for additional markets, likely where Xiaomi is already established. There is no word yet on whether we will see it in North America but it appears doubtful at this time.
