WQHD display for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 confirmed by UAProf file

Samsung Galaxy Note logoWith IFA 2014 getting closer, rumours about Samsung will announce are gathering steam. Among the announcements expected is the Galaxy Note 4. Most rumours have suggested that it will come with a WQHD (2560×1440) display and Samsung has now (accidentally?) confirmed this detail.

UAProf for Samsung SM-N910A

The UAProfile (user agent profile) file for the SM-N910A has popped up on Samsung’s own website. While it does not explicitly mention the Galaxy Note 4 by name, the fact that the SM-N900 is the Galaxy Note 3 is a strong indication that the SM-N910 will indeed be its successor. The file does not reveal much but it does confirm that the display will come with a resolution of 1440 by 2560 pixels.

As for the size of the display itself, it appears that Samsung will stick with a 5.7-inch panel. A number of rumours hinting at this appear to have been confirmed by Zauba, India’s import tracking database. It shows the SM-N910A making its way to Samsung’s test center there. The entry confirms the display size as being 5.7-inch.

Import notice for Samsung SM-N910A

Samsung is rumoured to be looking to launch two variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. While the first will launch with a flat display, a second could launch with a curved display (like the Galaxy Round?) in a limited number of markets.

The SM-N910A is most likely the AT&T variant of the Galaxy Note 4. It is likely to sport a flat display rather than a curved one.
