Watching the Apple WWDC 2014 keynote online (Updated)

Apple WWDC 2014

Apple will kick off WWDC 2014 in a few short hours with the traditional keynote. While we were already expecting Apple to unveil the latest versions of iOS and OS X along with new software and services with a focus on health and fitness and home automation, a rumour this morning also suggests we could find out more about the iPhone 6 and the iWatch. If you did not win tickets to the event itself, Apple will livestream the keynote today so that you can catch all the news from your desk or the patio.

Unfortunately, despite earlier signs otherwise, it appears that the livestream will only be available once again to iOS and OS X devices. Earlier indications were that Apple would finally support Windows but the events page has been updated and the Windows reference has now disappeared. As it stands now, Apple will only livestream the event to devices running Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later and to second- and third-generation Apple TVs with software 5.0.2 or later.

The Apple WWDC 2014 keynote kicks off at 1300 EDT (1000 PDT).

Update (6/5/2014): Apple’s WWDC 2014 keynote is now available for your viewing pleasure both on YouTube and iTunes. While there may not have been any new hardware, it still packed a punch with announcements ranging from OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 to developer-focused announcements, including the new programming language Swift.
