Signs continue to point to the imminent launch of the next HTC flagship smartphone. Following a number of leaks about its possible specifications, a UAProf (User Agent Profile) file for the HTC M8 has surfaced on HTC’s website. The file reveals only a few details and does not even list the model number. For that, we’re relying on the usually reliable @evleaks‘ word.
Details are sparse and there is fewer information in the file than one normally sees. The key omission is that of the model entry (<prf:Model> string). Most UAProf files have one but this one does not. This is likely deliberate though.
As for what the file reveals, it does tell us that the HTC M8 will come with Android 4.4 KitKat and sport a Full HD (1080×1920) display. This lines up with past rumours, suggesting once more that HTC is not quite ready to make the jump to a QHD resolution for its flagship devices.
HTC unveiled the HTC One, its current flagship smartphone, in February 2013. It is likely to unveil its successor, perhaps as the HTC One+ or HTC One Two, around the same time this year.
