Motorola announced today that Moto X pre-orders will begin this Tuesday, September 16. Available that day in the U.S. will be the Moto X for AT&T and the Moto X – Pure Edition as well as the Moto Hint and Motorola Turbo Charger.
The Moto X – Pure Edition will start at US$499.99 and will come with unlockable bootloader. The Moto Hint wireless hear but will cost US$149.99 while the Motorola Turbo Charger which can give Moto phones up to 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes will sell for US$34.99.
Specific shipping dates will be provided at checkout. Motorola had previously said that the Moto X would begin shipping later this month while the Moto Hint will follow later this year.
Availability from other U.S. carriers will be announced “soon” as will international availability. TELUS Mobility, which will carry the Moto X in Canada but only in black and bamboo, has not yet provided specific availability details.
Motorola also announced that the Moto 360 smartwatch will be back in stock in the U.S. on motorola.com on Tuesday after it sold out the day it went on sale. It warns that “you’ll want to hurry as quantities will be limited.”
Motorola also revealed a number of enhancements to the Moto Maker site. These include:
- More choices including new leather finishes and FSC-certified wood finishes
- A new rendering engine that will use a photo realistic rendering engine to show you what your device looks like
- The ability to compare several designs side-by-side
- The ability to start off with options curated by our designers
If only Motorola would bring Moto Maker to Canada now…
